The Javier Bolanos Music & Arts scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to talent and deserving pupils. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities as well.

Our Mission: The Javier Bolanos Music & Arts scholarship empowers students and parents with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing support services and scholarships to as many exceptional students, and Alumni as possible.

BOLAÑOS, INGRAM TAPPED TO LEAD MIAMI-DADE SCHOOL BOARD AND THREE NEWLY ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS SWORN INTO OFFICE

MIAMI & endash; Veteran School Board Member Frank J. Bolaños was chosen unanimously today to chair the Miami-Dade County School Board in the coming year.

"I hope that I can serve as a bridge to bring together some of the new folks, new ideas, the change agents that are part of us, with those who have been with us a while longer in the board and in the administration and in the classroom," Mr. Bolaños said. "It's an exciting new time with a new Superintendent, a new Board, and I think it's perhaps an unprecedented opportunity for us to move forward to support an agenda of positive change and reform."

First appointed to the Board by Gov. Jeb Bush to represent District 5, Mr. Bolaños has served for three years and was re-elected without opposition. He succeeds Dr. Michael M. Krop, who chaired the Board for two years.

Board member Frank Bolanos' community service includes the following: Director of the Hialeah-Miami Springs Northwest Dade Chamber of Commerce, FIU Alumni Association, and member of the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He has previously held seats with the Inter-American Business Association, United Way of Miami-Dade County, Executive Board of the New World School of Arts and served as a Councilman of the Doral Community Council.

MIAMI – School Board Chair Frank J. Bolaños will be the guest speaker at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday, March 2. His presentation, “Miami-Dade County Public Schools: Extreme Makeover,” will focus on the future vision of the public school system. “This new School Board is committed to engaging our Business and Community leaders, since they will play a vital role in our future success at reforming our public schools and improving the education we provide to our children and students,” said Bolaños. The meeting is scheduled for noon at the Radisson Downtown Miami, 1601 Biscayne Blvd., Ballroom Level.

Governor Jeb Bush stated, "Frank has a wealth of community service experience and is dedicated to serving the needs of his community." Governor Bush selected Bolanos from a field of thirty candidates, including four former state legislators.
